Ringo Starr in his Ludwig drum kit with Beatles at Abbey Road studios 1967
Abbey Road Studios is opening its doors to the public in March as part of its 80th Anniversary celebrations.
The legendary studio released tickets last week for presentations from the authors of the critically-acclaimed book ‘Recording the Beatles’ to be held in Abbey Road’s Studio Two on March 10. The event sold out in less than 24-hours, leading to two extra sessions being announced for March 11.
Alongside the talks, attendees will get the opportunity to see rare and unseen photographs, films and recordings from the archives of EMI and Abbey Road Studios, an exhibition of vintage photos and recording equipment.
They’ll also, of course, be able to bask in the home of iconic records where drummers such as Ringo Starr (The Beatles ) and Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) recorded their masterpieces.
Tickets for the two presentations held by authors Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan are available for £75 at seetickets.com.
